Tropical Depression Gener has weakened after passing through the Cordilleras, but the threat of strong winds persists in northern Metro Manila and parts of Luzon, prompting PAGASA to maintain Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

Gener, currently packing 45 kph winds and gusts of up to 55 kph, is moving southwestward at 15 kph and is expected to emerge over the coastal waters of Ilocos Sur or La Union today. It may exit the PAR between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The southwest monsoon, enhanced by Gener and Pulasan, will bring strong to gale-force gusts to various areas, particularly in coastal and upland regions. Gale warnings are in effect over several coastal waters.
