PAGASA, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, has issued a thunderstorm warning for Metro Manila and several areas in Central Luzon as of 7:30 am on Monday.
The advisory states that the following areas will experience moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds in the next 2-3 hours:
- Metro Manila
- Quezon
- Pampanga
- Rizal
- Bulacan
- Nueva Ecija
- Tarlac
- Batangas
PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio earlier stated that Southern Luzon all the way to Mindanao will have cloudy to partly cloudy skies with possible thunderstorms throughout Monday.
Other areas affected by the southwest monsoon:
- Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
- Ilocos Region, Apayao, and Abra: Occasional rains.
Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted near the Philippine area of responsibility at 3 a.m. It was estimated to be located 1,155 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
