“Ne Zha 2,” which recently broke the record for the highest-grossing animated film of all time, is hitting Philippine theaters!
The fantasy adventure film, sequel to 2019’s “Ne Zha,” will arrive in big screens on March 12.
It was first released in China on January 29, and quickly garnered not just critical acclaim but box office success too, snatching the record for the highest-grossing film in a single territory within two weeks of release.
The film quickly became the highest-grossing animated film of all time at US$1.9 billion, the first non-American, non-English language animated film to hold the title.
“Nezha 2” continues after the catastrophe that leaves Ne Zha and Ao Bing with destroyed bodies. Ne Zha’s mentor, Master Taiyi, rebuilds their corporeal form using the Sacred Lotus, but as they are recovering, new challenges arise that threaten the balance of the realms.Â
