PCSO Denies Lotto Winner Database Hack: Fake News on Valentine’s Day

A recent Facebook post claiming a data breach of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) lotto winner database has been debunked by PCSO General Manager Mel Robles. The post alleged the compromise of winner profiles from 2016 to 2025, including sensitive personal information and winning numbers.

Robles firmly denied the allegations, stating that the PCSO systems remain secure and that no hacking incident has occurred. He emphasized that no report has been filed with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) because no breach took place. The PCSO general manager dismissed the claims as “fake news,” urging the public to disregard the misinformation, particularly on Valentine’s Day.

He clarified that the list circulating online actually pertains to participants in a PCSO branch promotion held in March 2022, not a list of lottery winners. Robles further assured the public that the main database for lotto jackpot winners is securely stored at the head office, separate from branch office systems.
