Pacquiao to make a comeback with 1-Pacman in his corner

Manny Pacquiao, the country’s greatest fighter, is making yet another big comeback, but not in the boxing ring. This time, the man known in the boxing world as Pacman has thrown his hat into the political ring once more to continue serving the nation that helped propel him to the top of the boxing world.

With his illustrious boxing career, Pacquiao, the world’s only eight-division champion, has shifted the fight to public service, where he leveraged his boxing legacy to champion the cause of the masses.

“Utang ko sa bayang Pilipino ang lahat ng tagumpay ko bilang boksingero. Panahon na para magbayad ako ng todong serbisyo sa kanila,” Pacquiao vowed.

At the height of his boxing career, Pacquiao served six years as a senator until 2022 after serving six years as a congressman in the House of Representatives.

Along with the 1-Pacman party list, Pacquiao will run in the 2025 elections on the platform of sports development, among other causes, to inspire would-be Manny Pacquiaos, Hidilyn Diazes, and Carlos Yulos from the grassroots to reach for the stars and bring honor to the country. His 12-year stint as a lawmaker while reigning as world boxing champion was marked by service to the masses, from which he emerged in a rags-to-riches journey that inspired many.

The 1-Pacman party list shares this advocacy. For the past nine years, the party list has notched a record of lawmaking that extends beyond sports development. Over the past nine years, the party list has filed 144 bills of general and national relevance. Among these is the Eddie Garcia Law, which mandated workplace safety for entertainment industry workers.

This legislative record was notched by 1-Pacman under Rep. Mikee Romero. This time, his daughter, Milka Romero, is picking up the torch along with Bobby Pacquiao, the champion’s brother, and Shey Mohammad as second and third nominees, respectively.

Following his presidential bid in 2022, Pacquiao returns to politics with the same determination that fueled his many comebacks from adversities in the past. As a young bakery worker, Pacquiao left his hometown in General Santos to pursue his dream as a boxer in Manila, sleeping on cardboard boxes outside the boxing gym for a chance to hone his fighting skills. Surviving knockouts and losses, Pacquiao reached the pinnacle of the boxing world, earning eight weight division titles, a feat no one has achieved before or since.

Pacquiao’s political comeback revives talk about his influence on Filipino society. His switch from boxing champion to political leader showcases his relentless drive for public service and governance. Returning to the Senate with his experience and popularity, he aims to address the country’s two pressing issues: poverty and corruption.

His followers are eager to see how his passion for community and development translates into practical policies. It’s an exciting time for Pacquiao, 1-Pacman Party List, and his supporters as they step into this new chapter to continue to tackle the challenges faced by the nation.

Pacquiao will have as his counterpart in the House of Representatives the party list that carries his advocacies, 1-Pacman. whose first nominee, Milka Romero, seeks to invigorate the House with her youthful enthusiasm and idealism, and her roster of accomplishments in sports and business.

“Kasama ko ang 1-Pacma sa laban na ito. Kagaya ng mga naging laban ko sa boksing, walang atrasan ito. Kasama ng 1-Pacman, lalaban tayo,” Pacquiao declared.

Milka, herself is an active athlete and sportswoman, having skippered the Ateneo women’s football team. With her sister Mandy, she owns the volleyball team Capital1 Solar Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League.

Pacquiao and 1-Pacman’s shared commitment to sports development aims to provide better training and opportunities for young athletes. Pacquiao and 1-Pacman believe that investing in sports can help uplift communities, foster discipline, and instill a sense of pride among the Filipino youth.

As the 2025 elections approach, supporters are rallying back to their aspirations. With a blend of charisma, experience, and a genuine desire to serve, Pacquiao and 1-Pacman intend to usher in a new era of sports and youth empowerment in the country. Their message is clear: With 1-Pacman in his corner, Manny Pacquiao is ready to fight for his country again.
